Delivering Auto Apps on Windows 10
You will now distribute an Auto app, which will automatically download and install the app to the user's device without requiring them to interact with the app within the Intelligent Hub app catalog.
1. Add Internal Application
In the upper-right corner of Workspace ONE UEM Console:
- Select Add.
- Select Internal Application.
2. Upload Application
Click Upload.
2.1. Find the Application MSI
Click the Choose File button.
2.2. Upload the Workspace ONE Assist MSI File
- Click Documents
- Click HOL
- Select the WorkspaceONEAssist_v5.3.1.3 MSI file
- Click Open
2.3. Save the MSI File
Click Save.
2.4. Continue to the App Settings
- Select No for Is this a dependency app?
- Click Continue.
3. Configure App Details
- Scroll down to find the Supported Processor Architecture field.
- Select 64-bit for the Supported Processor Architecture.
3.1. Confirm Deployment Options
- Select the Deployment Options tab.
- Scroll down to find the How To Install section.
- Notice that the Install Command and installer codes have been entered automatically from the details within the MSI, unlike when working with the EXE file previously.
- Click Save and Assign.
4. Save and Assign the Application
- Enter
All Devices
for the Distribution Name - Click the Assignment Groups field
- Select the All Devices ([email protected]) group
4.1. Configure App Delivery Method
- Select Auto for the App Delivery Method. This will automatically deploy and install the app for your users, making it available right away without any interaction with the app catalog.
- Enable the Display in App Catalog setting.
- Click Create.
Note: You now have the ability to choose if the app is displayed in the app catalog or not. This is helpful when deploying driver updates or scripted actions and don't want the end-user to see this in the catalog.
4.4. Confirm App Creation
The Workspace ONE Assist application has been created and assigned to the All Devices smart group. Continue to the next step.
