Validate Device Enrollment

Your device was enrolled and received three configurations:

  1. A Restriction Profile which prevents end users from unenrolling the Windows 10 device
  2. The 7-Zip app was deployed as an On Demand app
  3. The Workspace ONE Assist app was deployed as an Auto app

You will now confirm that the Restriction Profile was installed by verifying that the restrictions are applied on your device and that the two apps are available according to their deployment type (On Demand vs. Auto).

1. Review New Unenrollment Settings

  1. Click the Windows Start button
  2. Click the Windows Settings button

1.1. Accounts

Click on Accounts.

1.2. Access Work or School

  1. Click on Access work or school.
  2. Click on Connected to Workspace ONE MDM.

1.3. End-User Can't Unenroll

  1. Click Disconnect.

Notice, the end-user now does not have the ability to unenroll their device from Workspace ONE UEM management.

Here you can see the before and after results of applying the Allow or Don't Allow MDM Unenrollment policy on the Windows 10 device.

2. Confirm Applications

  1. Click the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub app from the task bar to return to the app catalog.
  2. Click Refresh to view the new apps that have been made available.
  3. Confirm that the 7-Zip and Workspace ONE Assist apps both display under the New section.

2.1. Confirm Workspace ONE Assist Installed

  1. Click the Windows button.
  2. Notice that the Workspace ONE Assist app has been added to the Recently added section. Click the app to launch it.
    NOTE: If you don't see the Workspace ONE Assist app yet, it may still be installing. Wait a few minutes and try again.

2.2. Close Workspace ONE Assist App

This confirms that the Workspace ONE Assist app was installed for the user without any manual interaction on their end, providing a seamless experience for delivering business critical apps.

After opening the Workspace ONE Assist app, the privacy policy is displayed. Click Close.

2.3. Install the 7-Zip Application

Back in the Intelligent Hub app catalog, click the 7-Zip app.

2.3.1. Start the 7-Zip Install

Click Install.

2.3.2. Confirm the Install

Click Install for the pop-up.  The status of the 7-Zip app will change to Installing.

2.3.3. Confirm 7-Zip was installed

The package is small and should download quickly.  After 30-60 seconds, check that the 7-Zip app was downloaded and installed on the device by:

  1. Click the Windows button.
  2. Confirm that the 7-Zip File Manager app displays under the Recently added section. You may choose to launch the app to confirm it was installed successfully.

3. Validation Conclusion

You were able to confirm that the Restriction Profile took affect on the device as intended and that the two applications you made available, Workspace ONE Assist and 7-Zip, were presented to the user from the app catalog and were successfully installed!
