Using Automation to Tag Low Battery Life Devices
In this activity, use the automation capabilities in Workspace ONE Intelligence to tag low battery life devices in Workspace ONE UEM. Make sure you are logged in to the Workspace ONE UEM console for the first step.
1. Return to the Workspace ONE UEM Console
From the Workspace ONE Intelligence Console:
- Click the Services dropdown menu.
- Click Workspace ONE UEM.
2. Navigate to All Settings in Workspace ONE UEM Console
In the Workspace ONE UEM console:
- Click Groups & Settings.
- Click All Settings.
3. Create the Low Battery Health Tag
- Click Device & Users.
- Click Advanced.
- Click Tags.
- Click Create Tag.
4. Save Low Battery Health Tag
- Enter
Low Battery Health
for the Tag Name. - Click Save.
5. Obtain Tag ID
- Point to the name of the tag you just created.
- The tag URL is displayed on the status bar of the browser—the tag ID is the number at the end of the URL. Manually enter the number into Notepad. This tag ID will be used as part of the automation action in the following steps.
- Click Close.
Note: In the sample image, the tag ID is 10007
– your ID will differ.
6. Obtain a Device ID
- Click Devices.
- Click List View.
- Click an enrolled device to view the device details.
7. Copy the Device ID
The device ID is displayed in the URL of the Device Details View page. Copy and paste the number into Notepad. This Device ID will be used as part of the automation action in the following steps.
8. Return to the Workspace ONE Intelligence Console
- Click the menu icon on the right.
- Click Workspace ONE UEM to return to the Workspace ONE UEM Console.
9. Open Automation Settings
In the Workspace ONE Intelligence console:
- Click Automations.
- Click Add.
10. Select a Template
- Click Start on the Custom Workflow banner.
- Navigate to Category.
- Navigate to Workspace ONE UEM.
- Click Devices.
11. Define Automation Settings
- In the Name field, enter
Dell Battery Replacement
. - Under Filter (If), select Dell Battery Health.
- Select Less Than.
- Enter

12. Add an Action
- In the Action (Then) section, click the + icon to expand the options.
- Click Workspace ONE UEM.
- Enter
Add tag
in the search field. - Select the Workspace ONE UEM -> Add Tag to Device result.
13. Configure Action Settings
- Paste the copied Device ID from earlier into the Device ID field.
- Select Enter Custom Value for the Path Variables
- Paste the copied Tag ID from earlier into the Tag ID field.
- Click Test.
14. Click Test
- Confirm the Device ID and Tag ID match your pasted values.
- Click Test.
15. Confirm the Test is Successful
- Confirm that the View Test Result section shows 200 OK. If an error is reported, double check the Device ID and Tag ID that you provided previously.
- Click Cancel to close the Test page.
16. Save the Workflow
- In the bottom right corner, toggle Enable Workflow on.
- Click Save.

17. Save and Run Workflow
- Toggle the One-time Manual Run option to on. This will immediately execute the workflow against the target devices.
- Click Save & Run.
