1. Click Identity and Access Management
2. Click Setup
3. You may need to click the right arrow (>) to find the VMware Workspace ONE UEM setting
4. Click VMware Workspace ONE UEM

1. Scroll down until you see the option for User Password Authentication through Workspace ONE UEM
2. Select Enable for this option
3. Click Save

1. Click Manage
2. Click Policies
3. Click Edit Default Policy

1. Click Configuration
2. Click Add Policy Rule

1. Keeping all the options to default, scroll down until you see the authentication options at the bottom.
2. Select Password (with Workspace ONE UEM) for the option then the user may authenticate using
3. Select Password (Local Directory) for the option If the preceding method fails or it not applicable, then
4. Click Save

1. The access policy rule you created will appear at the bottom of the list. Click and drag the widget beside the bottom rule and move it to the top of the list. This will cause the new policy rule to be processed first when authenticating users.
2. Click Next.

Click Save to save changes to the new default policy.

Ensure that the new default policy now has 3 Rule(s)

Click on the first tab to switch back to the Workspace ONE UEM Console.
