Setup a Weblink Application and Entitle Users
This section will review how to create a Weblink Application and how to entitle your synced users to access the application.
1. Create a Weblink Application
In the VMware Identity Manager Administrator Console,
- Click Catalog.
- Click New.
1.1. Configure Weblink Application Definition
- Enter
Workspace ONE UEM
for the Name. - Enter
Workspace ONE UEM Login Page
for the Description. - Click Select File... for the Icon.
1.1.1. Choose the Google.png File
- Click Documents
- Click HOL
- Click VMware Identity Manager
- Click hol_logo.png
- Click Open
1.1.2. Complete Application Definition
Click Next.
1.2. Setup Weblink Application Configuration
- Select Web Application Link as the Authentication Type.
- Enter
https://labs.awmdm.com
for the Target URL. - Click Next.
1.3. Save and Assign
Review the configuration as desired and then click Save & Assign.
1.3.1. Entitle All Users to the Application
- Enter
ALL USERS
in the Users / User Groups search bar. - Click the ALL USERS result.
1.3.2. Set the Deployment Type to Automatic
- Select Automatic for the Deployment Type.
- Click Save.
Selecting Automatic will place the application in the user's catalog
2. Verify the Weblink Application
- Click Options
- Click New incognito window
- Enter
https://{yourtenant}.vidmpreview.com
to navigate back to the login screen of your VMware Identity Manager tenant
NOTE - Replace{yourtenant}
with your tenant name!
2.1. Login as aduser
- Enter
aduser
for the username. - Uncheck Remember this setting.
- Click Next.
2.2. Enter the Domain User's Password
- Enter
VMware1!
for the password - Notice that the domain shows as corp.local, verifying that aduser belongs to corp.local instead of the System Domain
- Click Sign in
2.3. Open the Weblink Application
- Click Catalog
- Click Open for the Workspace ONE UEM Weblink Application
2.4. Confirm the Google Weblink Application Launches
- Confirm that a new tab opens the Workspace ONE UEM login page for https://labs.awmdm.com.
This confirms that you were able to successfully create the Weblink Application, entitle it to your ALL USERS user group, and successfully launch the application for a user.
2.5. Close the Incognito Session
Click the Close button in the top-right corner of the Incognito session to return to the VMware Identity Manager Administration Console.
