Configuring VPN Profile and VMware Tunnel Client

In order to provide Per App VPN capability on the devices, it's required to send a VPN Profile and VMware Tunnel Client to the devices.

1. Configuring Device Profile

In this step you will learn how create the VPN Profile and push to the device

1.1. Adding Device Profile

Add Profile
  1. Click Devices
  2. Click Profiles & Resources
  3. Click Profiles
  4. Click Add
  5. Click Add Profile

1.2. Defining Profile Platform

Click Apple iOS

1.3. Configuring General Profile Settings

General Profile
  1. Enter VMware Tunnel for Name
  2. Select All Devices (Exercise 01) for the Smart Group.

1.4. Add VPN Payload

  1. Click the VPN payload
  2. Click Configure

1.5. Configuring VPN Payload Settings

VPN
  1. Select VMware Tunnel
  2. Click Save & Publish

1.6. Publish VPN Profile

Click Publish.

2. Configuring VMware Tunnel Client App for Deployment

In this step you will learn how to configure VMware Tunnel Client app to be deployed to your device through Workspace ONE UEM.

2.1. Adding Application

Add App
  1. Click Apps & Books
  2. Click Applications
  3. Click Native
  4. Click the Public tab
  5. Click Add Application

2.2. Searching for VMware Tunnel Client App

Search App
  1. Select Apple iOS for the Platform
  2. Enter Workspace ONE Tunnel for Name
  3. Click Next

2.3. Selecting Workspace ONE Tunnel App

Click Select for the Tunnel - Workspace ONE result

2.4. Save and Assign Workspace ONE Tunnel app

Click Save & Assign

2.5. Adding Assignment

Add Assignment

Click Add Assignment

2.6. Configuring Assignment

Config Assignment
  1. Select All Devices (Exercise 01) for the Assignment Groups
  2. Select Auto for the App Delivery Method

2.7. Configuring Policies

  1. Scroll down to find the Policies section
  2. Select Enabled for Managed Access
  3. Select Enabled for Remove on Unenroll
  4. Select Enabled for Make App MDM Managed if User Installed
  5. Click Add

2.8. Confirm Assignment

Publish App

Click Save & Publish

In a couple seconds you should receive a dialog on your device requesting your confirmation to install the VMware Tunnel App - Confirm and launch the app after the installation is completed, the app will look for the VPN Profile that you just created, in case the VPN Profile is not on the device yet, the app will request.

 

2.9. Publish Application to Assigned Group

Click Publish
