RoomFinder Application without SDK

In this section, we are going to explore the Room Finder App without any AirWatch SDK enhancements. We will first compile and install the application on our iOS device via Xcode. Once installed, we will enter the Exchange URL and credentials manually to find the meeting rooms. In the following articles, we will leverage AirWatch SDK features to minimize user inputs step by step.

1. Launch the Room Finder Xcode project from Desktop

  1. Click on "Desktop".
  2. Select "roomfinder2016" folder.
  3. Double click on "RoomFinder.xcodeproj" to launch the project in xcode.

2. Run the application from Xcode on your iPad

  1. Select the physical iPad connected to the USB. (Note: This screenshot may differ depending on the name of your iPad).
  2. Select "General" tab.
  3. Ensure that Team and Signing Settings match as per the screenshot.
  4. Click on the "Run" icon to install the app on the iPad.

3. Enter URL

  2. Click on "Login" to continue.

4. Enter Credentials

  2. Enter the password as "VMware1!"
  3. Click "Login".

5. Select Location

  1. Select Location as "AtlantaOffice".
  2. Validate that you are now seeing Conference Room available.

6. Summary

Notice that how we have to enter all the configuration information (URL, Auth credentials etc.) to get to the list of Conference Rooms. In the next section, we will see how we can auto-configure these values securely to minimize the user inputs by leveraging AirWatch SDK enhancements.
